The tradeoff in one table
| 1 month | 3 or 6 months | 12 or 24 months | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paid today | Smallest | Medium | Largest |
| Effective monthly cost | Highest | Lower | Lowest (24 months is the lowest of all) |
| If your plans change | Simply don’t renew | Some unused time possible | Most unused time possible |
| Suits | Testing, a short event, uncertain plans | A season, a trial period that went well | Steady, year-round viewing on a setup you trust; 24 months for a setup proven over a long time |
The break-even point
The useful question is: how many months would I otherwise buy one at a time? Once that number reaches the break-even point, the longer term costs less in total. With Kopen TV’s current prices:
| Connections | 1 month | 12 months | 12-month effective monthly | 12 months costs less once you’d buy… |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 connection | $20 | $80 | $6.67 | 5 or more monthly plans (5 × $20 = $100) |
| 2 connections | $30 | $130 | $10.83 | 5 or more monthly plans (5 × $30 = $150) |
| 3 connections | $40 | $175 | $14.58 | 5 or more monthly plans (5 × $40 = $200) |
| 4 connections | $50 | $215 | $17.92 | 5 or more monthly plans (5 × $50 = $250) |
| 5 connections | $60 | $250 | $20.83 | 5 or more monthly plans (5 × $60 = $300) |
The same logic applies to the middle terms. For 1 connection:
| Term | Total | Same months bought monthly | Costs less once you’d buy… |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 months | $40 | $60 | 3 or more monthly plans |
| 6 months | $60 | $120 | 4 or more monthly plans |
| 12 months | $80 | $240 | 5 or more monthly plans |
| 24 months | $140 | $480 | 8 or more monthly plans |
All figures are totals in USD at today’s prices and assume the monthly price would stay the same.
If you watch occasionally
Seasonal or occasional viewing changes the picture. Say you would watch for 4 months with 1 connection. Buying monthly costs 4 × $20 = $80. A 6-month plan is $60 and a 12-month plan $80 — but either one keeps running after your season ends, so the extra months only have value if you would use them.
Assume a prepaid term runs continuously from activation, whether or not you watch. If your viewing has long gaps, ask IPTV Services support how terms are handled before choosing a long one.
Check your setup before committing
A long term only pays off if the service works well on your devices, at the times you watch, for the channels you care about. Check that first: request the 24-hour trial (no credit card, subject to availability confirmed by support), or buy a single month and move to a longer term once you are confident.
What else a longer commitment means
- Content can change. The seller’s terms say channels and content are subject to change without prior notice. The longer the term, the more that matters.
- Refund windows are short. The current Kopen TV policy allows requests within 7 days from purchase for new subscriptions only. Contact support first; one refund per customer and the stated exclusions apply. A longer term does not extend that window.
- Renewals are separate. Refunds do not apply to renewals, so decide on your next term deliberately.
A quick way to decide
- Choose 1 month if you have not tested your device yet, want it for a single event, or are unsure about the channels.
- Choose 3 or 6 months if a trial went well and you expect to watch through a season.
- Choose 12 months if you already know the service works for your household and you would watch most of the year.
- Choose 24 months only if the same setup has worked well for a long time, you expect to watch through both years and the largest upfront payment fits your budget.
None of these is the right answer for everyone, and the longest term is not automatically the right choice for you.
